Default CONFIRMED - Assassins and Ritualists WILL get new skills in Nightfall!

Per Gaile Gray's chatlog yesterday...

http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gtca9.gif

"There will be new skills for the Assassin and Ritualist, and for the six "core professions. And there will be skills for the Dervish and Paragon, of course."

My Ritualist just fell in love with Gaile. Yes, she's female too, but....

I was just reading that, glad someone started a thread.. there's been so many 'No new skills for 'sin and rit' threads...

And with the update buffs I may just try and get my assassin to do something other than a bunch of Fedex quests...

First off, that's old news and has already been discussed. Second off, that's already been discussed in the Nightfall section, also known as the APPROPRIATE section. Don't post in the wrong section...

I appreciate you letting me know - this is the only section I visit and I've seen lots of 'no new skills' threads, but no threads confirming new skills.

Idk, it kind of applies to all games, since this will (hopefully) mean that all of the classes will get new skills in future chapters (i.e. 4).

The post is fine where it is. Rits and Assassins are from Cantha and now will have new features in Nightfall so it doesn't need to be moved to the Nightfalls section. I'm glad to see this confirmed because I thought there would only be new content for the 6 core classes and the 2 new Nightfall classes.
Don't be such a jackass and only post to flame. 90% of your posts are pointless and just pure flaming.

I still doubt it will happen. That'll defeat the whole point of "core" profession.

of cos they will add new skills for asn and rit, use ur common sence lol, they have to sell all 3 chapters now... it was obvious we'll get new skills for all prof.

who cares if smbdy wants to start bazillion flaming treads and fill them with all kinds of crap they can dig out of they heads? let them flame all they want, as long as it makes them happy.... but dont u think that if u saw huge amount of ppl complaining about smth they think might happen it means that the worst-case scenario they're afraid of is going to happen

I dont see any conflict or any reason why it shouldnt be so. Each expansion adds to the skills and items pertaining to the pre-existing professions, not to mention adding new professions.

Uh... of course they will get new skills. Why were people foolishly speculating that Asn and Rit won't get any new skills? Anet is smarter than that! I'm glad this idiotic conspiracy theory is finally laid to rest.

So now that you get Assassin and Ritualist skills in Nightfall, but you can't use them. And you have to get Factions in order to use them? That is just absurd.

On the other hand...Does that means Paragon and Dervish will get new skills in Factions to be fair? Money wise?

Well.. most of the threads I've read where people have been asking for confirmation, they've been given plenty of 'don't be so stupid, chapter specific profs will only be supported in their respective campaigns' answers. Though rarely supported by much in the way of links to official comments from Anet.

Might be old news to some (Yesterday!) , but not everyone visits every thread in every section, every day. I know I don't...

3x /sign .. I think he believe's he's a mod.. Always trying to correct people when there's no need for it...
(Back on track) With all the buff's and new skills coming out for sins, makes me want to create one.

Um...the newest PC Gamer magazine spilled the beans that assassins and ritualists are getting new skills in Nightfall, and Gaile just confirmed that it's true. She said there will be "hundreds" of skills and that the numbers of new skills that were posted by other sources were inaccurate.

So they are including new assassin and ritualist skills, now it's just "wait and see what the new skills are", just like with all the other professions. We might even get to test the new assassin and ritualist skills in the PVE weekend next week, who knows.

EDIT:

They don't seem to go back and add new stuff to previous chapters, so probably not. ANet wants us to buy new chapters to get new stuff. But this most likely means that Paragon and Dervish will get new skills in chapter 4.

I absolutely agree. I've been holding off creating an assassin (heck, I was seriously doubting whether I'd EVER create one) because I figured it was a dead class.

The skill buffs and the bait of new skills is really enticing me to do so...it shows that the class won't be "abandoned" in favor of the 8 other classes in Nightfall.

By the way, I created this thread with the specific thought that this impacts people's decisions (like mine) on how they currently play the game, and isn't solely related to Nightfall discussion. I believe that speculation on those new skills, etc. should be reserved to that section, however.

I cannot tell you how much pain and personal attacks I have endured on these threads because of this issue. I was very thankful that Gaile confirmed it and I am seriously looking forward to the new skills.

on a side NOTE TO ALL NAY SAYERS:

QFT!

Until ANet confirmed this I was pretty much going to build core-class based characters. There was no point in pushing forward with anything that wasn't going to get supported beyond the chapter it was introduced.

Let's just hope that we don't get another group of duplicate skills. (*winces at the thought of a quadruple vamp touch ranger*)

lol still nice to see people doubting confirmed quoted statements...

and the POINT of the core professions is that they are included as default in any chapter whether you have the previous chapters or not...

you will not be able to have a rit or sin in nightfall unless you have factions because they are not "Core" professions...

ive have been trying to explain this to everyone when the whole rumor without confirmation arised and people started flaming anet because rits and sins wouldnt be supported in nightfall...

ALL chapters will include the 6 "core" classes and whatever new classes are introduced with the corosponding chapter(s) they have... the only debate was whether or not they would continue to add new contend for those that have chapter specific professions...

and by all means its completely logical that they do continue to add content for them considering they are a profession choice for those that have purchased the chapters they pertain to and upgrade with newer chapters...

and it give cross promotion for people to be swayed into purchaseing previous chapters with chapter speicific professions so they have access to them and the skills/items associated with them...

best way to visualize this would be what if nightfall didnt have new stuff for rits and sins... there wouldnt be to many people playing them... therefore no temptation to new players who only purchased nightfall to even consider purchasing factions since all canthan items can be farmed and taken to and sold in any area and all skills can be unlocked via the online store for pvp(meaning chapter specific skills, like how u still need to go to tyria to get some of the nice warrior elites and those who only have factions cant get them without having profacies)

anet isnt stupid...

While I wouldn't mind this thread being in this forum (unlike Knightsaber Sith, who isn't a mod coincidentally), there already is a thread here. Closed.
